Theft in Boys Hostel

Today morning, three laptops were stolen from the AIT Old Boys Hostel. Following were the particulars of this incident:

Laptop 1: Dell Vostro

Laptop 2: HP

Laptop 3: Acer

Time: About 7:20.

Flank: 2-D

The victims of theft were two from second year and one from third year. They told that they had left for the breakfast at about 7:10 AM and returned at about 7:30 minutes. Meanwhile, the gap of 20 minutes was sufficient for the thief. In addition to this, many others lost their mouse, keyboard and other accessories.

The information was instantly given to the Hostel security staff and attendants. The two of three exit gates of the OBH were immediately closed for the whole day and all the rooms in hostel were checked. Although boys say that the college CCTV camera has recorded an unknown figure going out of the Campus main gate at about 7:30 AM carrying a big bag on his back but his face is not clearly visible. The mess staff also confirms this fact as they were entering the college at that time and had seen a man with big bag going towards Dighi.

To be noted that now days, the incidents of thefts have increased in the college. Last year also, many laptops, mobile phones and pen drives along with cash were also stolen with no clue of thief. People guess that someone inside the hostel is involved with outside thieves. Boys with desktop PC's are a bit relaxed as they have less probability of getting robbed in such daylight.
